SARAJEVO, Aug 1 (KUNA) -- By holding 52 cultural events annually, Bosnia is the European country that holds the largest number of cultural festivals annually, as indicated in a study by the European culture and arts council.
The large number of festivals in held in Bosnia is seen as a reflection of the desire of the people to engage in cultural and social activities after years of war and siege, it said.
Cultural and arts events are now supported by the central and local governments and European civil society organizations, it showed.
It noted two major festivals in Bosnia: the month-long winter festival held in February, and the summer festival held in July.
Other events held in Bosnia include the international film festival, folklor music events in which students and children sometimes participate, and portrait drawing, the study said. (end) ar.ris KUNA 011222 Aug 08NNNN
